The Wood River Wolverines came out on the losing end of a classic pitcher’s duel Tuesday evening, as the Twin Falls Bruins prevailed by a score of 1-0.

But don’t count them out of the championship game yet.

While Twin’s victory on Tuesday propels the Bruins into the 2016 Great Basin Conference championship game, Wood River will face Minico Thursday, May 12, with a berth in the championship game at stake.

The winner between the Wolverines and the Spartans will face Twin Falls on Saturday. And they’ll need  to beat the Bruins twice to claim the 2016 Great Basin Championship.

Thursday’s winner will also be guaranteed a spot in the State Tournament, joining Twin Falls as the two Great Basin representatives.

First pitch in Thursday’s game at Founder Field in Hailey is at 5 p.m.
