STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK

The Papoose Club will stage its 65th annual Kindercup Sunday, March 5, at Dollar Mountain.

The free event is a rite of passage for young skiers and snowboarders ages 3 through 12. Many of Sun Valley’s Olympians, including Picabo Street, once raced in the Kindercup.

Bib pickup is between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. outside Carol’s Dollar Mountain Lodge. Races will begin at 10:15 a.m. and an Awards Ceremony for the top three racers in each category will follow at 12:30 p.m.

Costumes are encouraged so get out those tutus, tuxedo shirts and more.

Racers are asked to pre-register by 5 p.m. Friday, March 3, at www.papooseclub.org/kinder-cup-pre-registration. A free shuttle will run from the Sun Valley Pavilion parking lot to Dollar Mountain starting at 8 a.m.

The Papoose Club is organizing the event in partnership with Sun Valley Company and the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
