It’s Teddy’s 11th birthday and JMcLaughlin dress shop is throwing a paw-ty to celebrate.
The store will kick off its spring collection with a special benefit from noon to 4 p.m. today—Friday, April 29—to celebrate the birthday of Teddy, the chocolate lab who serves as the official store greeter.
There’ll be goodie bag treats for dogs and snacks for shoppers. And 15 percent of the proceeds will go to benefit Mountain Humane, Teddy’s favorite charity. Mountain Human representatives will be on hand, as well, to offer information about current adoptables looking for forever homes and services.
"Teddy's the sweetest, most friendly and lovable chocolate lab--he comes to work with me everyday," said store manager Sarah Howe. "He and I love how this special community is so dog friendly and are thrilled that we're able to host a fun doggie party with a special give-back to Mountain Humane."
The store is located at 520 E. 4th St. in Ketchum. Those who wish to shop via phone may do so by calling 208-471-5387.
Mountain Humane will be one of many Wood River Valley organizations hoping to receive donations during the Idaho Gives campaign May 2 through 5 at https://www.idahogives.org. In fact, the Mary and Kathleen Harriman Foundation has provided a $10,000 matching pledge, meaning that every donation made to Mountain Humane during that campaign can be doubled.
The animal welfare campus adopted out 36 dogs and puppies and nine cats and kittens during the month of April.
