Longtime local jazz pianist Alan Pennay and vocalist Susan Christensen will kick off this summer’s Jazz in the Park concerts at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 26, in Rotary Park across from the Wood River Community YMCA in Ketchum.
The free weekly concerts run from 6 to 8 p.m. Sundays. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring low-back chairs and picnics.
Other concerts:
July 3—Tony Gallo, who recently moved from Los Angles to Boise, will appear with his band. Tony has an exceptionally silky voice—check him out on YouTube, says organizer Will Caldwell.
July 17—Pamela DeMarche, who with her band wowed the crowd last year, makes a return appearance.
July 24—The Wood River Valley’s own Bossa Nova Jazz Ensemble will take the stage with a special guest on mandolin.
July 31—Nicole Christensen, who calls herself a “songbird,” will finish out the season with her seven-member band.
