The Caritas Chorale will “Sing with Strings” when it performs its spring concert Saturday and Sunday in Hailey.

The Chorale will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 13, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 14, at the Wood River High School Performing Arts Theater.

The concert is free, although donations will be welcome to help pay for sheet music and other expenses.

This concert will feature a string quartet performing with the chorale. Soloists are Karen Marrolli, Eric Whitacre, Craig Courtney, Mark Sirett, Dan Forest, Ryan Murphy, Mat Pod and Andy Beck. The Chorale is under the direction of R.L. Rowsey.

Songs such as “Welcome, Spring” and “There will Come Soft Rains” will toast spring. Other songs on the musical menu include “Come and See,” “Five Hebrew Love Songs,” “From Earth to Heaven,” “Keep Me Fully Glad,” “Light Beyond Shadow” and “A Lullabye.”

"We are delighted to be on the stage again," said Rowsey.  "This time with accompaniment by some wonderful instrumentalists.  The concert consists of a collection of contemporary choral pieces written to be accompanied by piano and various string groups from solo cello to string quartet.

"This is also the first concert where we welcome Joel Bejot as our Assistant Music Director.  A longtime friend and supporter of the chorale, it is great to have Joel's knowledge, passion, and support for our work. Our first song is called Welcome, Spring by Andy Beck.  Little did I know just how ready we would be to welcome Spring when I chose the piece months ago.I think this concert may just be the nudge that we all need to move boldly into all of the gifts of Spring."
