Nancy McMath crashed at the finish line, noting that there was a time her friends thought that was the way Nordic skiers ended their races because they saw so many hitting the ground in the Olympics.
Others stayed upright, reaching instead for a homemade snickerdoodle cookie as their reward. Between 75 and 100 skinny skiers took advantage of Saturday’s warm sunny temperatures to take part in the annual Ski the Rails along the bike path between Ketchum and Hailey.
