We’ve heard a lot about the Great American Eclipse in the past few months. But its actual trip from coast to coast will be very brief.
The total solar eclipse is supposed to make an appearance over Lincoln City, Ore., at 10:16 a.m. on Aug. 21, Pacific Daylight Time—that’s 11:16 Mountain Daylight Time. We will see it 14 minutes later at 11:29 a.m., provided rain clouds don’t block the view.
The phenomenon will exit the United States over Charleston, S.C., at 2:48 p.m. Eastern time, or 12:48 p.m. our time.
All that in the mere span of one hour and 32 minutes!
