The Hailey Public Library will conclude its yearlong Noche de Cine en Espanol series on Tuesday with a 2011 romantic romp that won an American Latino Media Arts Award for Favorite Movie Actress.
The free screening will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Hailey Town Center West.
The free movie, which includes words like “prada” and “nada” in the title, is rated PG-13. It is being shown in English.
It follows two spoiled Southern California Latina sisters who are forced to move to the barrio of East Los Angeles after their father dies. Directed by Angel Gracia, it stars Camilla Belle, Alexa PenaVega and Kuno Becker.
“It provides a fascinating window into the Mexican-American cultural environment of East Los Angeles,” said Kristin Fletcher, the library’s programs and engagement manager.
Noche de Cine en Espanol celebrates Hispanic culture with actors and directors from Mexico, Central and South America. Many of the moves that have been shown over the past several months have been in Spanish with English subtitles.
