The Blaine County Democratic Party is now accepting applications from registered Democrats for District 1 County Commissioner to replace recently deceased Commissioner Richard “Dick” Fosbury.

The party will name three candidates to the Governor for appointment. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Monday, March 27.

Applicants should submit a cover letter and résumé by email to blainecountydems@gmail.com. Or send the application by mail to P.O. Box 2402, Ketchum, Idaho, 83340.

Selected applicants will be invited to interview via Zoom. Interviews will be conducted on Tuesday, March 28, beginning at 5 p.m. After the interviews are conducted, three candidates will be submitted to the Governor on Wednesday, March 29 for his appointment.

Requirements to apply:

• You must be a registered Democrat to fill the seat.

• You must be a resident of District 1 to fill the seat. The boundaries may be found at https://maps.co.blaine.id.us/custapps/parcelinfomap/ or in the graphic below.

• You must have resided in Blaine County for one year preceding the appointment and in District 1 for a period of 90 days preceding the appointment.
