Have you noticed the new mural on the wall of the Crisis Hotline and Building Material Thrift Store in Bellevue?
The mural, which boasts the words “Hope Lives Here,” features a sun, a kite, hands holding a heart, flowers and more.
The Crisis Hotline and Building Material Thrift Store sponsored it as a part of Hope Week in May, and several volunteers painted the sign between raindrops.
“We had a lot of fun and it is super visible,” said Tammy Davis, executive director of the Crisis Hotline.
H.O.P.E. is spreading awareness as part of a statewide initiative to promote resiliency in local communities.
It has painted murals in a handful of counties, including Blaine and Gooding. And it is trying to find ways to promote healthy outcomes through positive experiences.
There are “Hope Lives Here” training guides in English and Spanish to educate youth, parents teachers and others about resiliency. And supporters can download posters and hope notes to spread around the community.
“Today, somebody, somewhere is thinking of you and smiling,” says one Hope Note. “You are seen, you are worthy, you are loved!”
