Looking for UFOs? Head to the Magic Lantern Cinemas in Ketchum.
The Sun Valley Museum of Art is showing a five-part film series from National Geographic called “UFOs: Investigating the Unknown” over two days.
Episodes 1 and 2, which focus on the Secret Pentagon UFO Program and Giant UFO in Texas, will screen at 4:30 and 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5. Episodes 3, 4 and 5, which look at Close Encounters at Nuclear Bases, Citizens Taking Charge and the Government Breaking Its Silence, will screen at 4:30 and 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12.
The film series is being offered in conjunction with The Museum’s current exhibition, “Sightings,” which explores humankind’s continuing interest in unidentified flying objects. The series was co-produced by Leslie Kean and Ricki Stern for CNN and is based on Kean’s investigation into the government’s decades-long investigation into UFOs.
“Her bestselling book and many articles on the subject place her at the forefront of research, and we are screening the films as a precursor to her Oct. 26 lecture hosted by SVMoA at the Argyros,” said Kristine Bretall, the Performing Arts & Lectures director for SVMoA.
The film series focuses on the Pentagon’s secret program on UAPs, otherwise known as Unidentified Aerial Phenomena. It features interviews with journalists, academics, astronomers, military officers, senators and others.
Tickets for the films are $10 for SVMoA members and $12 for nonmembers and may be reserved at https://svmoa.org or by calling 208-726-9491.
