How does wildfire shape salmon habitat?
Dr. Jaime Goode will talk about “Climate Change at the Forest-Stream Interface” during a free presentation at 6 p.m. tonight--Thursday, June 1--at Ketchum’s Community Library.
Goode, assistant professor of Geosciences and Environmental Studies at The College of Idaho, will discuss how wildfire and related disturbance causes damage to wildlife and how aquatic organisms have evolved with these landscape disturbances to adapt.
Goode has been investigating how river systems respond to a changing climate and the implications for ecosystems and societies since 2009 when she received her PhD from Colorado State University in Geoscience. She’s conducted much of her work in central Idaho with scientists at the USDA Forest Service and Rocky Mountain Research Station.
