Galena Lodge opens today!

But don’t expect the hoopla of last year with the opening day barbecue and all the other activities that celebrated its summer opening.

The Blaine County Recreation District was even hesitant to bring attention to the opening because there’s still so much snow surrounding the lodge, said Jim Keating, BCRD director.

“I imagine we’re still about a week out before some of the trails are dry enough that we can bike and hike them. Others will take longer,” he said.

That said, the lodge will be serving food for those who want to join up with old friends and make plans for summer outings.

 And come next week it will serve a Father’s Day Brunch from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 18. The cost is $22 for adults and $12 for kids 12 and under.
