Light on the Mountains Center for Spiritual Living is celebrating a milestone—30 years in the Wood River Valley.
It’ll do that with a concert and barbecue from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday July 9, on the grounds of the spiritual center on State Highway 75 just north of Gimlet Road (look for the colorful flags marking the driveway entrance).
Light on the Mountains will serve up turkey, beef and veggie burgers, as well as hot dogs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
And acoustic rock musicians Blaze & Kelly will provide the tunes from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in this Bring-Your-Own-Blankets-and-Chairs event.
Singer/songwriter Niccole Blaze and bassist/vocalist Mo Kelly, who hail from Boise, provide a folk-rock style with a light-hearted energy. Blaze, a New Jersey native who was influenced by “The Boss” Bruce Springsteen, plays acoustic guitar and harmonica. Kelly, a California native, plays a five-string fretless electric bass.
They’ve toured nationally, opening for Crosby, Stills and Nash, Shawn Colvin and Olivia Newton-John among others.
They have eight CDs featuring original work, with their most recent album called “The Sun Runs,”
Donations will be gratefully accepted to help defray the cost of the celebration. For information, call 208-727-1631.
