“Sticks and Stones” will be the theme of this year’s Vacation Bible School at Valley of Peace Lutheran Church.
The church will kick it off with a Block Party, complete with free hot dogs, ice cream and games from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at the church at the corner of Woodside Boulevard and Wintergreen Drive in Hailey.
Parents will be able to register their children during the party. They can also pre-register their children by calling 208-721-0468 or emailing Jennifer Stahl at jenniferstahl34@gmail.com.
The free Vacation Bible School will run from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, July 31-Aug. 4, at the church.
It will include games, music, arts and crafts and healthy snacks. Staff from Camp Perkins near Stanley will do the teaching, alongside church volunteers co-chaired by Craig Levitan and Jennifer Stahl.
The theme, “Sticks and Stones” is taken from I Peter 2:5, which says, “You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
