Renowned Buddhist Master Khentrul Rinpoche will be in Ketchum Aug. 3-6 to give a public talk and weekend retreat.
His focus: “Training the Mind’s Capacity for Love, Peace and Happiness.” He will explore what it means to have genuine happiness and what strategies we can use to develop that happiness.
The talk will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Light on the Mountains Spiritual Center, 12446 Highway 75 south of Ketchum. The weekend retreat will follow Aug. 4 through 6.
Rinpoche is a Rime master, meaning “master of all traditions.” A Vajra Master of Kalachakra Tantra, he has written nearly a dozen books in English, Tibetan and other languages. He is known for his pure morality, incredible scholarship, meditative attainments and deep compassion. His teachings offer a rare opportunity to engage in Buddhist practice from a non-sectarian point of view.
The public talk is $15. The weekend retreat costs $175 and financial aid is available. To register, contact Mary Ann Chubb at m80@cox.net or Amy Bingham at ahbingham@gmail.com.
