Sun Valley Resort will begin its Sun Valley Inn renovation project on Tuesday, Aug. 1.
The Resort will remove and relocate some trees in the northeast area of the Sun Valley Village from Tuesday through Saturday, Aug. 5, to make way for the work zone for the remodel project.
The remodel itself will begin on Aug. 15. Twenty-five guest rooms in the inn will receive new décor and amenities while retaining the inn’s traditional look. Some of the rooms are being combined to make large guests suites to meet the needs of today’s sophisticated traveler.
The remaining 79 guest rooms are scheduled for renovation in Fall 2018.
Bald Mountain Pizza will be closed in mid-August. It will be the Village Station when it reopens in mid-December 2017, said Kelli Lusk, the resort’s spokesperson. It will take on the ambiance of a sports bar, with three large screen TVs, a full-service bar and a new menu that will include pizza, pasta, salads, sandwiches and entrees.
The Ram restaurant will keep its traditional ambiance but get a new exhibition kitchen. A Ram Bistro upgrade will feature wooden floors, new fireplace, and new big screen TVs.
Site preparation will take place around the Sun Valley Play School and employee dining facility from Aug. 7 through 14. The work zone will be barricaded and signage placed, indicating detours and alternative entrances to buildings.
Resort officials are adhering to their Avian Protection Plan to mitigate the impact on local birds.
The irrigation ditch between Signatures and the Playschool will be rerouted. And a cedar fence will be installed around the Inn, the Ram and Village Station Project that same week.
