The City of Ketchum will host a pair of community meetings this week to provide residents and business owners with information essential to being prepared for the total solar eclipse event on Aug. 21.
The meetings are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Ketchum's Community Library.
Speakers include representatives from Blaine County Disaster Services, the U.S. Forest Service, the Idaho Department of Commerce, Idaho Office of Emergency Management, St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center, Mountain Rides and Ketchum emergency personnel.
At the meeting, the city will make available pamphlets for residents and for business owners to share with customers and visitors during the eclipse. The pamphlets will provide critical information, from important contact information and telephone numbers to locations of public bathrooms and parking.
As many as 30,000 visitors are expected in town for the eclipse, with many more passing through the valley on the way to Stanley and other sites north of Sun Valley.
