Pixie and the Partygrass Boys will headline the final Ketch’em Alive of the season from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight—Tuesday, Aug. 8—at Ketchum’s Forest Service Park, First and Washington streets.
Organizer Will Caldwell brought them back to the free Ketch’em Alive concert series this year “because they are so awesome.”
The group, from the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, plays cover tunes from the 1970s, ‘80s and 90s, including those of The Grateful Dead, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Aretha Franklin, Britney Spears, Credence Clearwater Revival and Taylor Swift.
They also sing original songs about wandering the desert, drinking whiskey, love lost and love gained.
Guaranteed to get people up and dancing, they return this year with a mystery woman on violin.
Mahoney’s Bar & Grille in Bellevue will offer two free concerts this week.
The first takes place at 6:30 tonight and will feature country rock singer and songwriter Dustin “Sunshine” Schaeffer and his band.
The second will be held Thursday, Aug. 10, and will feature Sequestrado from the south Wood River Valley. The band, which features Brent Barsotti on guitars, James Fisher on drums, Jeff London on bass and Raul Vandenberg on guitar, plays high-energy reckless music.
