Learn how salmon spawn, depositing their eggs in red or gravel nests, on Saturday during the annual Sawtooth Salmon Festival near Redfish Lake in Stanley.
Salmon spawning tours will be on the agenda during the annual Sawtooth Salmon Festival on Saturday, Aug. 26.
The event, sponsored by Idaho Rivers United and the Sawtooth Interpretive and Historical Association, will start at 10 a.m. at the Stanley Museum, one mile north of Stanley on Highway 75.
There’ll be live music and gobs of activities celebrating the lives of salmon.
A salmon dinner cooked by The Redd Restaurant will start at 5:30 p.m. and will feature salmon donated by Pride of Bristol Bay and wine donated by Atkinsons’ Market.
Tickets are $30 for members of Idaho Rivers United and the Sawtooth Interpretive and Historical Association. They’re $40 for others, available online at https://www.idahorivers.org/new-events/2017/8/25/sawtooth-salmon-festival or at the Redfish Visitor Center or the Stanley Museum.
