Get your kick on at the 2nd Annual SV7S Adult Coed Soccer Tournament, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17 at Atkinsons’ Park in Ketchum.
It’s a 7 vs. 7 format, with seven members of a team on the field at one time. Games are 30 minutes on a half field measuring 40-by-60-yards. There will be three-game minimum and group and knockout stages.
Teams need to bring light and dark jerseys.
“It’s great for older players because the games are short and much quicker,” said organizer Pete Woodring. “This kind of format has been going on for a long time. There’s nothing like it. It’s got so much energy.”
Eight teams of 10 took part last year and organizers hope to grow the event with the addition of teams from Boise and Twin Falls.
Cost is $32 per player or $320 for a 10-member team. Members must be 18 or older.
Registration (www.SunvalleySoccerClub.com/SV7s) includes lunch, an Oktoberfest pint glass and beer and shirt. Food trucks from the Wood River Sustainbility Center and Lefty’s will have food available for spectators to purchase.
There will be music at the event, which is billed as “family friendly.”
All proceeds will benefit the Sun Valley Soccer, Club, a nonprofit organization for youth ages 5 through 18.
