Bid adieu to summer on Sunday with the revival of the Classic Boulder Mountain Bicycle Tour.
The free bicycle event is suitable for road bikers and mountain bikers.
Road bikers are invited to meet at Ketchum Town Square at 10 a.m. to bike to Galena Lodge. Mountain bikers can meet at 9 a.m. at the Sawtooth National Recreation Area to bike up the Harriman Trail.
Celebrants are also invited to drive, hike or run to the lodge, as well, said Lodge Manager Erin Zell.
Galena Lodge will serve a special lunch for a charge, along with live music.
Sag wagons will cruise the road for safety and repairs. And a shuttle van and trailer will be available for those who need rides down.
For information, call Galena Lodge at 208-726-4010.
GALENA GALLOP TODAY
Galena Lodge is hosting the Galena Gallop mountain bike race today—Saturday, Sept. 16. The two-day high school race, which began Friday, is the Idaho Interscholastic League’s third race of the 2017 Idaho High School mountain bike race series.
Last weekend’s races at Targhee in Eastern Idaho saw about 450 race starts and this weekend’s event at Galena may draw even more racers due to its proximity to Boise.
The event means that no parking will be available in the main parking lot at Galena for today only. Designated parking will be at Prairie and Russian John Campgrounds with buses and a box truck for bikes and gear running between there and the lodge.
Handicap parking will be available at the infield area at the Lodge.
