The ice is back. And so is Free Skate Night.
Campion Ice House invites all comers to cut a line across the ice tonight--Saturday, Sept. 30--as the Hailey ice skating rink rings in its third season with free skating from 5 to 8 p.m.
Skate rentals will cost $5.
Already, the popular skating rink has a full slate of upcoming events:
- Kids open hockey kicks off at 3:15 p.m. Sept. 30.
- A Curling Clinic and Open Curl will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 4. $10.
- Higher Ground will host a Sled Hockey night at 4 p.m. Oct. 8 and 22, showing how to play hockey not on ice skates but on sleds that one skates across the ice by hand “skates.” $6.
- Ice skating classes begin on Oct. 9.
- Curling begins on Oct. 16.
- Kids Halloween on Ice will be held Oct. 28. All ages are welcome to don costumes for a spooky skate session augmented by refreshments and giveaways. Free.
Last year the nonprofit rink sponsored free community skate nights for 1,200 skaters, provided free skate rentals and ice time for 900 students, provided free skate rentals for children and adults participating in classes, and donated more than 75 hours of ice to nonprofits.
