Daniel Benaim, former Middle East policy adviser and policy speechwriter at the White House, will discuss the current Presidential administration and the Middle East at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Ketchum’s Community Library.
The program is presented in partnership with the Boise Committee on Foreign Relations.
Benaim is currently a senior fellow at American Progress, researching U.S. policy in the Middle East, as well as a visiting lecturer at New York University.
Until June 2015 he was foreign policy speechwriter and Middle East adviser to former Vice President Joe Biden, traveling with Biden to 25 countries. Before that, he worked in the Department of State, writing speeches for then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and various deputy secretaries.
Benaim also has a been a professional staff member on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and chief speechwriter to former Sen. John Kerry, who has a home in Sun Valley.
His writings on behalf of others have appeared in numerous publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal.
