Elizabeth Keller trained under Edward Villella, one of the most revered American ballet artists of all time.
And next Sunday she will teach young Sun Valley ballet dancers what she’s learned from Villella and others.
Sun Valley Ballet School will hold Fall Master Classes on Sunday, Nov. 12, in its studio in the Meriwether building at 111 N. 1st Ave. in Hailey.
The classes will be taught by two guest artists:
- Elizabeth Keller, who was born in Dubai, has studied at the Academy of Dance in London, Ballet Center of Houston and the Pennsylvania Ballet, where she was coached by Violette Verdy. She has danced with the Trey McIntyre Project, Children’s Ballet Mistress in New York and Ballet Idaho Company and Academy.
- Phyllis Rothwell Affrunti’s training includes Chapel Hill Ballet School in North Carolina and Academy of the Maryland Youth Ballet. She has studied with Jean Pierre Bonnefoux, Patricia McBride and Violette Verdy and been a principal dancer with Pennsylvania Ballet, Charleston Ballet Theatre, Eugene Ballet and Ballet Idaho.
“It is such a wonderful opportunity for dancers,” said Aimee Durand.
Ninety-minute classes will be offered in contemporary dance, pointe prep and ballet for dancers ages 9 and older.
Classes are $45 for those ages 9 and 10, $60 for those ages 11 through 13 and $75 for those 14 and older.
