Be sure to pack your credit card if you plan on parking in Ketchum.
The City of Ketchum has converted two off-street parking lots to paid parking and began enforcement just in time for Thanksgiving.
One is the lot at Sixth Street and Leadville Avenue behind Memory Park. It has 26 spaces.
The other is the lot at Second Street and Washington Avenue across the street from the Limelight Hotel. That lot was recently expanded from 26 spaces to 65 and includes three handicapped spaces. It was built on land the city is renting from the Ketchum Urban Renewal Agency, which contributed $75,000 for land improvements and the capital costs of the expansion.
Both lots have been equipped with touch screen electronic payment systems. They accept credit and debit cards and contactless payments but cannot accept cash or coins. Payment can also be made using the mobile app CallToPark, a web-based application, or WayToPark, which can be downloaded to mobile devices from Apple or Google accounts.
Rates for both lots is $1.50 per hour with a one-hour minimum and 24-hour maximum time. The city plans to allow overnight parking at the Washington Avenue lot on a trial basis this winter.
