In the winter of 2017 the magnitude of winter’s force was on full display. Storms snapped telephone poles across the Wyoming landscape. Blizzards in Europe buried towns in an instant before disappearing just as fast. And members of an expedition in Bolivia got a brief moment of nirvana above 18,000 feet before things went rogue.
Teton Gravity Research (TGR) caught all this and more in its newest film—“Rogue Elements.” The flick features riders like Sammy Carlson and Sammy Luebke tackling powder stashes in Chatter Creek, B.C., Mont Blanc Massif, France, Cordillera Real, Bolivia, and other out-of-the way places around the world.
And the Sun Valley premiere of that film will take place at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Apple’s Bar and Grill.
Tickets are $10, purchased in advance at Apple’s, and will go to support the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation’s new Big Mountain Backcountry Team. Tickets will be $12 at the door.
There will be a raffle with prizes provided by local businesses. And attendees will get a chance to try Apple’s new flatbread pizzas and other new menu items, along with new wines and kombucha on tap.
Apple’s is located at 205 Picabo Drive at the bottom of Baldy’s Warm Springs.
