Chelsea Berriochoa twisted a glittery ribbon into a loop. Then she twisted another and another.
Within 30 seconds her nimble fingers had created a lavish bow to deck out a Christmas package.
“I love glitter—and more glitter,” she said.
Berriochoa was among a half-dozen floral elves at Sue Bridgman Florist in Ketchum who took it upon themselves to show customers how to tie their own bows for the holiday season, birthday presents and beyond.
The big bows took their place among other trendy decorations, including icy blue, blue-green and green crystals; berry-laden twigs snowbirds would have a hard time passing by and anything wood from woody looking pinecones to wooden wreaths.
Cork ribbons, penguins and snowmen—they all have a role in this winter’s decorations, as well.
“It’s amazing the variety,” said Tori Lakey, who just graduated from the Floral Design Institute where she learned about contemporary Japanese stylings and European stylings.
