Longtime tracker Ann Christensen will lead the final ERC Winter Tracking Workshop of the season from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10.
Christensen, who studied with famous tracker and author James Halfpenny, will start the tracking session at the Environmental Resource Center office at 471 Washington St. in Ketchum.
There she will introduce participants to local winter animals, their life history and their winter adaptations using skulls, casts of tracks that she has collected over the years. She will also lay out the basics about animal tracking.
Participants will then head out on a snowshoe tracking adventure through the fields and woods north of Ketchum as they try to discover secrets left in the snow.
The event is open to novice and experienced trackers of all ages. There is a suggested donation of $10 for ERC members and $20 for nonmembers. Pre-registration is encouraged at 208-726-4333 or by emailing alisa@ercsv.org.
