There’s a new BAH in the valley—Bugs After Hours.

BAH is a new addition to the Bug Zoo currently going on at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden.

Designed for bug lovers 5 through 8 years old, it will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 28.

Parents can drop their children off at the garden where they will be treated to buggy snacks and games, while getting up close and personal with the Bug Zoo’s most popular critters.

Cost is $25 for Sawtooth Botanical Garden members and $30 for nonmembers. Preregistration is required at www.sbgarden.org.

Additionally, the poplar Bug Zoo U (University) will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, as well.

The garden has a full lineup of experts who will be giving youngsters and adults alike the inside scoop on their critters.

Presenters are:

11:30-noon. Ann Christensen with Hildegard, a rose-haired tarantula.

Noon-12:15 p.m. Paige deShields will share about her millipedes.

12:15-12:30 p.m. Orrie deShields will introduce his leopard gecko and fire-bellied toads.

12:30-12:45 p.m. Zack Davis will show off Melon, his eyelash crested gecko.

12:45-1 p.m. Tyler Salvoni will introduce attendees to Whiskers, his new corn snake

1-1:15 p.m. Donavan Narangjo will introduce Hershey, a Chaco golden knee tarantula.

1:15-2 p.m. Ross Winton and his daughter will lead attendees into the garden to learn about bumblebees and butterflies.

Cost for Bug Zoo is $5 for adults, $3 for children 5 through 18 and free for children 4 and under.

The public is invited to drop in to view critters in the Bug Zoo on weekdays through Thursday, May 3. Preferred visiting hours are from 3 to 5 p.m. when school groups are not in session.
