Learn how your life matters and how you can prevent suicide in our community at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Light on the Mountains Center for Spiritual Living.
The Rev. Jill Iris will present the free discussion at the Center, which is located just north of Gimlet Road behind the red and yellow banner flags on Highway 75.
“With the suicides of Anthony Bourdain and other celebrities, everybody is talking about it. So it seemed a perfect time to examine it,” said Iris.
The conversation will dissect myths and misunderstandings about suicide and examine the warning signs and what to say or not to say to someone you’re concerned about. Iris will share about resources and programs available to help those in need of assistance and guidance.
Iris, a minister at Light on the Mountains, is a member of the Suicide Prevention Task force, a multi-agency group serving Blaine County. She also presents the Teen Suicide Awareness and Prevention program called “My Life Matters” in Blaine County schools on behalf of the Crisis Hotline.
Wednesday’s event is available via livestream by visiting lightonthemountains.org and following the livestream link.
