Take a guided wildflower walk to 4th of July Lake on Saturday, July 14.
The Sawtooth Botanical Garden and the Idaho Native Plant Society are leading the high-elevation hike in the White Cloud Mountains.
Participants can expect to see 30 species or more of high mountain flora on the hike, which is rated “easy to moderate” along a relatively flat hiking trail. The trail gains 615 feet of elevation over 1.77 miles.
The free walk is appropriate for children ages 7 and older. Participants are asked to leave Fido at home.
Meet to carpool at 8:30 a.m. at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden, four miles south of Ketchum on Highway 75 and Gimlet Road. The walk is scheduled to return to the garden by 4 p.m.
