Learn about water rights and water use during a free Sun Valley Coffee Talk on July 18.
Marie Callaway Kellner, water associate for the Idaho Conservation League, and Matt Robinson, restaurant manager for Sun Valley’s Konditorei Bakery and Café, will hold court on the issue at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at the Konditorei in the village at Sun Valley Resort.
Kellner will explain why water rights are a big deal, especially in the arid western United States. And she’ll tell why water management in the Big Wood River basin is unique among many Idaho communities.
Robinson will talk about how the Konditorei, Sun Valley’s first certified green restaurant, is working hard to reduce its environmental footprint and be a local leader in the sustainability movement.
There also will be suggestions for simple steps that can minimize water usage at home and the workplace.
