Fire engines raced to the midsection of Bald Mountain Monday afternoon after a truck caught fire on Lower College. The fire broke out just before 4 p.m.
The Saw tooth National Forest brought in its Helitack helicopter, which is stationed near the SNRA headquarters, in case an aerial attack was needed. But firefighters said they thought they had it under control.
“It just burnt a little patch on Lower College,” said Josh Switzer, a senior firefighter for Sawtooth Helitack. “You won’t even notice it come ski season.”
