A female Lama will visit the Wood River Valley this weekend, sharing teachings and oral transmissions.
The Venerable Sangyum Kamala Rinpoche will offer a public talk at 7 p.m. tonight—Friday, Oct. 5th—at Light on the Mountains Spiritual Center, just north of the Sawtooth Botanical Garden on Highway 75 (look for the red and yellow flags). Admission is $10.
She will then offer a Mountain Dharma Retreat all day Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 6-7, at The Gateway Building, 613 N. River St. in Hailey. Times are 10 a.m. to noon, 2 to 4:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. They’re 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The final talk and meditation will be from 7:15 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 1030 Airport Way, at the Flourish Foundation building in Hailey.
The Tibetan Buddhist retreat will offer ritual and meditative experience. Suggested donation for the retreat is $100. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. There will be sleeping bag accommodations provided for $10 a night for those from out of town.
RInpoche is the spiritual companion of His Holiness Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche, considered one of the greatest Dzogchen (Great Perfection) masters of the past century. Kamala Rinpoche fulfilled the traditional three-year retreat before being married at age 20.
