The Caritas Chorale’s Holiday Sing-Along, which takes place tonight, has become more than tradition. It’s become something that makes a vital difference in the community, said Musical Director R.L. Rowsey.
Not only does the Sing-Along feed souls with its familiar music but the donations the chorale asks audience members to bring help feed the community through the Hunger Coalition.
“The Hunger Coalition is a perfect partner for Caritas,” said Rowsey. “We both seek to feed our community. And the Hunger Coalition’s work to change our community’s relationship with food is noble. This annual event has become one of my very favorites and I’m grateful for the support we have to keep this special night alive.”
The Caritas Chorale will hold its annual Holiday Sing-Along at 5:30 tonight—Sunday, Dec. 9, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Ketchum.
The Chorale will perform several of its favorite holiday choral works and serve up a few surprises, as well.
The concert is free. But attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items or cash donations for The Hunger Coalition.
“As we go into the winter season, a season during which many households are forced to make a choice between heating their homes or feeding their families, we are grateful for the collaboration with Caritas Chorale and the support of the community,” said Hunger Coalition Board Chair McNair Bailey.
The Caritas Chorale has been performing in the Wood River Valley for 19 years. It’s made up of 70 soprano, alto, tenor and bass singers. And it can always use more. The chorus is open to all, no auditions needed.
