What do teachers do in the faculty lounge?
Apparently, those at the Sun Valley Community School dabble in four-part harmony.
Four Sun Valley Community School teachers who call themselves The Faculty Lounge broke out in song, taking hundreds on a “Sleigh Ride” and leading them in a boisterous round of “Here Comes Santa Claus” at Saturday night’s Christmas Tree Lighting at Sun Valley Resort.
And on Thursday, the a cappella quartet will perform two free holiday concerts at Ketchum’s Limelight Hotel.
The concerts will start at 6 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20.
The group consists of Hannah Loeb, the Upper School English teacher; Rachel Aanestad, the librarian and Upper School architecture teacher; Lauren Marziliano, the school’s learning specialist, and summer school coordinator Megan Mahoney, who teaches elementary performing arts and middle school music.
While the group is focusing on Christmas music right now, their set includes a wide variety of music genres, including Christmas songs, folk music, rock and some twists on fun songs like Britney Spears’ “Toxic,” said Mahoney.
