Ketchum Naturalist Ann Christensen will lead a Winter Tracking Workshop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19.
Christensen, who studied under famous tracker James Halfpenny, will begin the program at the Environmental Resource Center’s office at 471 Washington St. in Ketchum.
There she will introduce participants to local winter animals, their life histories and their winter adaptations while outlining the basics about animal tracking.
Participants will then head outside to look for tracks in fields and woods north of Ketchum.
Participants should bring snowshoes, warm clothes and water. There is a suggested donation of $10 for ERC members and $20 for non-members.
Space is limited so pre-registration is encouraged at 208-726-4333 or by emailing alisa@ercsv.org.
Can’t make this one? There will be another from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16.
