Authorities are warning of flooding in Hailey due to an ice jam on the Big Wood River.
An avalanche came down late Friday night blocking the big Wood River at Della Vista and War Eagle Drive in Hailey, according to a spokesperson for the Hailey Fire Department. And water is backing up into several homes.
Locations that will experience flooding include the Della Vista and War Eagle subdivision.
Authorities say: Turn around when encountering flooding roads as most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
The National Weather Services says that that additional snow accumulations of three to six inches could occur today in the Wood River Valley, Stanley Basin and Frank Church Wilderness. Mountain tops could get nine inches.
Winds gusting as high as 35 miles per hour could cause areas of blowing and drifting snow, especially on mountain passes.
The snow is expected to end by 5 p.m.
Highway20 between Mountain Home and Fairfield was closed for a few hours Thursday after an avalanche covered the highway near Cat Creek Summit. The road has reopened.
Highway 20 has also been closed a couple times between Carey and Arco due to blowing snow and reduced visibility but is currently open.
Avalanche danger is high in the mountains from Bellevue to Ketchum.
