Imagine two revolutionaries trying to save rock music in a post-apocalyptic world where everyone dresses, thinks and acts the same and musical instruments and composers forbidden.
The Wood River Middle and High School drama departments will present “We will Rock You: School Edition” Wednesday through Saturday.
Showtime is 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 27 and 28, 7 p.m. Friday, March 1, and 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2. The musical is staged at the Wood River High School Performing Arts Theatre at Hailey’s Community Campus.
The musical features more than 20 Queen hits, including “Another One Bites the Dust,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Killer Queen,” “We will Rock You,” “Somebody to Love,” “We are the Champions” and “Don’t Stop Me now.”
Ben Elton wrote the script for the musical which rocked more than seven million people in a record-breaking 12-year run. Since becoming the longest running show ever at London’s Dominion Theatre, it has been performed before 16 million people in 28 countries around the globe
Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for high school students, seniors and veterans and $3 for others.
