STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK
Sip and nosh your way through “Into the Beautiful North” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the Wood River Sustainability Center.
The Hailey Library is partnering with the Wood River Sustainability Center for a special Lines Between the Wines book discussion of Luis Alberto Urrea’s book—a joyful, timely tale of an irresistible young woman’s quest to define herself without borders.
There will be wine and nibbles served up by Al McCord.
The book is part of a community-wide read during the month of February and early March. It’s the fictional account of a 19-year-old woman who, inspired by the film “The Magnificent Seven,” travels from her village in Mexico to the United States to enlist seven men who’ve left her village to return and protect her home from drug-dealing banditos.
A $30 preregistration is required to cover the food and wine. Call 208-788-2036 to register.
