The Chamber of Hailey and the Wood River Valley will hold this month’s free Wake Up with The Chamber from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, at Windy City Arts.

The business, which has been wrapping the valley in signs for 15 years, is at 1911 Electra Lane next to Sun Valley Auto Club in the Hailey Business Park near Friedman Memorial Airport. Light refreshments will be served.

Expect the Chamber’s executive director Mike McKenna to talk about the Hailey Home, Garden and Outdoor Show, which will be returning in May.

The show, which will be held in the Campion Ice House in Hailey, is teaming up with both Hailey’s Annual Arborfest celebration and NAMI’s Biking for Mental Wellness Stigma Free Ride.

The weekend will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, with the annual Arborfest celebration at Roberta McKercher park in Hailey.

The Biking for Mental Health ride will take place along the Wood River Trail Bike Path and finish at Arborfest that day.

The Home, Garden and Outdoor Show will be held both Saturday and Sunday with dozens of vendors providing food and drinks, home and garden wares and advice. Outfitters will also show off the latest gear and talk about regional recreational options for the summer season.

To learn more or book booth space, contact The Chamber at stefany@valleychamber.org or visit www.ValleyChamber.org  or www.haileyidaho.com.  Or, call 208-788-3484.

ARBOR DAY PHOTO CONTEST

The Idaho Forest Products Commission is celebrating Arbor Day, a day dedicated to tree planting and appreciating the role that renewable resources plays in our lives, with a photo contest for all Idaho students in fifth through 12th grades.

The theme is “Look to the Forest,” whether it be trees growing in our yards or in the forests that make up 41 percent of Idaho. Entries will be accepted through March 31.

Prizes will be offered in four divisions: 5th and 6th grades, 7th and 8th grades, 9th and 10th grades and 11th and 12th grades. Entries will be judged on composition, technique, the use of light, overall impact and originality, as well as the expression of the theme.

The grand prize winner will receive $100 and individual winners $50.
