Learn about weeds and the things that control them during a free Spring Landscape and Noxious Weed Management Workshop on Tuesday, April 9.
The Environmental Resource Center, Wood River Land Trust and Blaine County will present the workshop from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Minnie Moore Room of the Community Campus.
Complimentary coffee and breakfast snacks will be provided at 8:30 a.m.
Participants will learn about weed bio-control and bark beetles, glyphosate, integrated pest management, and navitars.
Speakers include: Carl Jorgensen, Entomologist for USDA Forest Service - Intermountain Region; Don Morishita, Professor of Weed Science, Extension Specialist, and Superintendent of the University of Idaho Kimberly Research and Extension Center; and Steve Paulsen of Native Roots.

8:50 a.m.—Integrated Pest Management and Nativar Education
9:50 a.m.—Glyphosate: Issues and Concerns
11 a.m.—Insect Happenings: Weed Bio-control and Bark Beetles
Three re-certification credits, as well as “Water Smarty” credits, will be available. This workshop is designed for landscapers, property managers, and interested community members who are interested in learning about proactive, reactive and alternative methods of weed control that protect our natural resources.
