Wanted: Women affected by breast cancer to take advantage of a free three-day fly-fishing retreat.
Casting for Recovery will provide its 13th annual Southern Idaho retreat Friday through Sunday, May 31 through June 2, at Living Waters Ranch in Challis.
Female guides will be on hand to teach women how to fly-fish. And female medical professionals will provide a forum to broaden the understanding of breast cancer treatment and enable sharing among participants.
“Casting for Recovery is by far the most meaningful volunteering I do in my year,” said Hailey fly-fishing guide Morgan Buckert. “it’s not just about fishing but it’s about gathering women together who have something in common and encouraging them to build friendships, learn from each other and escape.”
To apply, visit www.castingforrecovery.org and apply for Southern Idaho or call 888-553-3500 by Friday, April 12. Applicants are randomly chosen and will be notified by the Casting for Recovery national office.
Casting for Recovery is a non-profit organization providing educational, recreational and emotional support programs to breast cancer survivors and those undergoing breast cancer treatment.
Two are held each year in Challis, and there’s one in northern Idaho.
