An elementary principal at the American School of Brasilia, Brazil, is Blaine County School District Superintendent GwenCarol Holmes’ recommendation for new Hailey principal.
Holmes will recommend to the board of Trustees at today’s meeting—Tuesday, April 9--that Toni Boush be hired.
“Ms. Toni Boush was the Interview committee’s unanimous top choice for the new Hailey Elementary principal,” said Holmes. “Ms. Boush brings a positive high energy leadership style and a passion for inclusive diversity. She has worked in both Eagle and Roaring Fork School Districts in Colorado and understands the dynamics and beauty of mountain communities.”
Boush was the elementary principal of Ruamrudee International School in Bangkok, Thailand, for six years. For the past three years, she has been a principal at the American School of Brasilia, Brazil. Previous to her international work, she was Middle School principal in Minturn, Colo., a part of the Eagle Colorado School District, for nine years.
She also served as assistant principal in the Roaring Fork School District near Aspen for two years.
She started her career 28 years ago as an elementary teacher.
Boush has improved elementary literacy, student achievement, developed and strengthened early childhood programs, provided professional development and provided strong support for English language learners in the places where she has served as principal. She also incorporated outdoor programs into learning,
The selection process included an extensive interview process that involved Hailey Elementary parents, staff and district administrators. A Meet and Greet with Hailey parents and staff was also included.
If approved, Boush will begin her contract mid-summer.
