Pick up the Hotline to Laughter with Mike Murphy and, possibly, save a life.
Ketchum’s all-around funny guy is performing a special comedy gig at 5:30 p.m. tonight--Sat. April 13—at Whiskey Jacques in Ketchum.
Admission is $40. Proceeds will go to the Crisis Hotline of the Wood River Valley and enhancement of the new My Life Matters suicide awareness program.
The hotline can be contacted 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing confidential crisis intervention services and referrals.
Calls to suicide crisis centers have doubled since 2014, according to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The rising number of calls coincides with rising suicides rates in the nation.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, made up of more than 150 crisis centers, fielded more than 2 million calls in 2017, up from a million calls three years earlier.
