Students with the Sun Valley Music Festival’s Music institute will present a free performance featuring the music of Haydn, Mendelssohn, Mozart and others tonight.
Twenty-two of the Music Institute’s outstanding students selected by a panel of faculty members will perform solo and ensemble pieces at 6 p.m. tonight—Sunday, April 28—at the Wood River High School Performing Arts Theater on Hailey’s Community Campus.
The concert will include string, piano and voice.
The performance will culminate with the presentation of the 2019 Carol Nie Outstanding Music Student Award. Violinist Analicia Koeplin was presented the 2018 award after performing Mozart’s Concerto No. 3 in G Major last year.
The Music Institute provides music education for string, piano and voice students of all skill levels from elementary through high school year round. It benefits students from within the Blaine County School District, as well as those from independent schools in the Wood River Valley.
The educational programs are provided free of charge, thanks to donations.
