Do you feel pink when you run? Maybe green? Or, perhaps, blue?
Try on all those shades during the Color Me Fearless 5K fun run on Saturday, June 1.
The run, which benefits Girls on the Run, will begin and end at Hailey’s Hop Porter Park. It will wind through the Della View neighborhood and Draper Preserve.
Each mile will be marked with a paint throwing station christening runners, walkers and strollers with powdered paint.
“What a happy day the Color Me Fearless 5K Day is in Hailey,” said Girls on the Run Executive Director Mary Fauth. “Not only are there many girls crossing the finish line for the first time, but the community that joins the event are full of smiles and exuberance.”
Participants are expected not just from the Wood River Valley but from Twin Falls, Gooding and other areas, as well.
Teams are encouraged to dress up and compete for Best Spirit Award provided by Blaine County Title, St. Luke’s Wood River, Rocky Mountain Hardware and Dr. McMinn Orthodontics.
Girls on the Run’s spring program boasts 120 girls representing elementary schools in Blaine County, Fairfield and Twin Falls. This race is the culmination of 10 weeks of relationship-building experiences, lessons in positivity and, of course, running.
Girl Power sponsors include St. Luke’s Wood River and Gravity Fitness.
Registration is $32 for adults and $18 for youth or seniors. Register online at www.colormefearless.com through Friday, May 31, or at KB’s Burritos in Hailey from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 31.
Those in groups of four or more receive a $5 discount. Team entries are also available and include a technical T-shirt, VIP bib bag check and a chance for a one-year membership at Gravity Fitness.
Day of registration at Hop Porter Park costs $36 for adults and $22 for youth or seniors.
