Local Republicans don’t just get out the vote. They also pick up trash!
The Blaine County Republicans have been cleaning up trash along highway 75 for 15 years.
During three hours of trash picking, Maggi Ferris and Lynn Peterson found 27 pull-tabs, which they will donate to the Ronald McDonald House.
Recycling pop tabs off soda cans, soup and other aluminum cans help offset the expenses of the homes, including the one in Boise. The homes provide children and their families with a place to stay while children are undergoing treatment in a hospital.
More recently, Blaine County Republicans began tidying up East Fork Road, as well, alerting drivers with a bright orange “Litter Pick Up Ahead” sign This year, Dale Ewersen, Maggi Ferris, Julie Lynn and Michael Leach finished in record time.
“Seems folks along East Fork Road keep the road tidy,” said Lynn. “Well done, neighbors!”
