Get ready for the songs of the girls’ groups—The Shirelles, The Supremes, The Pointer Sisters and others—when Sun Valley Opera stages its Summerfest.

Sun Valley Opera’s Summerfest will include something for everyone from a sweet-toned tenor who has performed with major opera companies to a country cookout concert featuring a rising country music star.

It will also include a free family concert featuring the BYU-Idaho Collegiate Singers.

The lineup:

  • July 16-17: Three Broadway singers will present a tribute concert titled “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?” at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the Sun Valley Pavilion. The concert is produced by 42 Productions in New York. Tickets start at $39 and tickets are available at 208-622-2135 or via www.sunvalley.ticketfly.com.

The trio will offer a sneak preview at a Diva cocktail party in the garden of a private home the evening before on Tuesday, July 16. Diva tickets are $200 per person and include the cocktail party plus premier seating at the concert the following night.

Diva tickets can be purchased by calling Sun Valley Opera at 208-726-0991 or online at www.sunvalleyopera.com.

  • July 25: Tenor Ashley Faatoalia will perform a Signature Salon Concert in a private home. It kicks off with a hosted cocktail party beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by the concert at 7:30 p.m.

“Opera News” has called Faatoalia’s singing “hauntingly beautiful” while crediting him with “a voice of winning purity and variety of expression.” The San Francisco Chronical has labeled him “sweet toned.”

He has performed with major opera companies, symphonies and is featured on several recordings. Tickets are $150 and can be purchased by calling 208-726-0991 or online at www.sunvalleyopera.com.

  • Aug. 6: Fifty singers in the BYU-Idaho Collegiate Singers will perform a variety of songs designed to appeal to adults and children alike at 6:30 p.m. in the Wood River High School Performing Arts Theatre on the Community Campus. The concert is free as part of the Sun Valley Opera’s outreach program.
  • Sept. 1: Brandon Lay, a rising country music star, will sing in concert following a country cookout on the grounds of the River Grove Ranch near Hailey.

Lay will kick things off with his autobiographical debut single “Speakers, Bleachers and Preachers.” The song talks to the fact that there was always country music on the radio, that his dad spread the gospel on Sundays as a minister and that he made his mark in basketball, football and baseball before finding his niche on stage before giant audiences.

The Labor Day Weekend cookout starts at 5 p.m.; the concert, at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $175, available by calling 208-726-0991 or online at www.sunvalleyopera.com

The Sun Valley Opera is offering season tickets for the first time--$500 will cover a ticket to each event, including reserved section seats for each concert. It also includes reserved or valet parking.
